A catch up post

So over here at 2 Amis Bake we have been a little busy the past few weeks.  Where each of these events pretty much deserve their own post, unfortunately they all have to share.

First up was helping one of our oldest friends ask his awesome girlfriend to be his wife.  These were so fun to make.  And luckily for Dustin, April said yes!  Congrats to the awesome couple.  Pretty sure some cookies will make an appearance at the wedding.

Next up was an order for Sock Monkey cookies.  It's something we had never done before but had wanted to try.  We used Sweet Sugar Belle's tutorial.

Next up was a cake and cake pops from one of our first and best repeat customer we have.  We always love doing cakes for her because she loves them so much.  The cake and cake pops were for her Granddaughters birthday.  I guess it's a good thing one of us has kids because I had no idea who Harry Hugglemonster was.  But apparently this looks like him.

Someone across the country was having a special birthday.  You don't turn 30 everyday.  And she was jumping out of a plane!!  So last minute I decided to use the Kopy Kake and get some skydivers on some of the cookies.  Fortunately the cookies survived shipping and Margo survived her sky jump.

It's also not every day that you turn 93.  But just this past week my Grandma celebrated her 93rd birthday.  Since she was having a lunch and a dinner get together, she requested 2 cakes.  I surprised her with some cookies.

Halloween!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  I love to see how creative people get with their costumes, and the candy in mini sizes isn't too bad either.  Our good friends Marc and Rusty have a halloween party each year, and I've been doing the treat part of the food spread for the past couple years.  This week was pretty busy with cookies, and cakepops, and more cookies, so unfortunately pictures were left until the last minute at the party and are not the best.

Cake pops in the awesome cake stand that the boys made.

 Cookie assortment.

 Skulls

 Ghost

 Candy.

 Spider webs

 Bats

 Witch Hat

 Tombstone

 Cauldron

 Pumpkins

All the cookies on display, only 4 remained at the end of the party, and I'm pretty sure we ate those cleaning up.

Next up . . . . 300 fall cookies!  Wish us luck.

Dora the Explorer

Two blog posts in one week, guess you could say it's been a little busy around the 2amis kitchen.  This weeks cake was for a little girl having her 3rd Birthday.  Dora it is.

To make this cake we used an 8"chocolate round for the face, and more 8" chocolate rounds to make the hair.  Filled it with chocolate cream cheese frosting, covered it in fondant, added the face and possibly the easiest and less stressful cake we have made.

This order also wanted some cake pops to go with the cake.  So we made 15 cake pops and covered them in Pink and Purple sugar, and a pastel mix of jimmies.  Turned out to be some of my favorite cake pops.
